Considering the extensive hours most restaurant people work, Chefs and owners rarely have the chance to get out and meet with their suppliers. It seems almost odd that there wouldn’t be more interest in seeing where the food is coming from, how the process works and how well or…er..uh..how poorly it’s being handled. We’ve have decided that this is more than just extra credit. It is and should be a vital part of any vendor qualification for us at ChefMod.
So…aside from those vendors that are very far away, we have set a regular time every Tuesday morning to visit our prime suppliers. As we go, we will do our best to bring some of this experience back to you, our customer and anyone else who chooses to follow us, with pictures and the occasional video. Most of this will be posted to our Facebook page, so please do visit us there at http://www.facebook.com/ChefMod and please join in. If you have any photos or video of suppliers that you either use through our program or others you would like to meet, please post them! Better yet, if you’re a supplier yourself, help our customers see what you do! After all, a picture is worth a thousand words!
