Egg prices through the roof?

Egg prices are seemingly out of control…again.  Although we are used to seeing things get tight around Easter, this year we’re seeing something different.  Prices did not go down after Easter which they usually do but in fact they continued to go up!  See the article from Market Watch…http://bit.ly/I4lqa.

Interestingly for our group we’re not seeing the same history nor are we experiencing the same price points that are quoted in the article, but we are seeing a slow increase since Easter and will continue to monitor the situation closely.  We spent over a quarter million dollars in fresh eggs and related products in the last 12 months and it’s growing all the time.  This continued growth helps our ability to negotiate better programs for our group.

Of course we can not reveal pricing but this is a good indication of the pricing trend for the last 12 months in our customer locations.
